A.I.’s role in Fashion and Marketing Analytics
Some may find Artificial Intelligence mysterious or leery, but in today’s world, it can help us with almost everything. The medical world uses it as a scribe to speed up results, the banking world uses it to create customized advice for clients, and for the fashion world, it could be used as a creative outlook. Sustalytic’s new A.I. expert Fatima Alhussein is working to create designs that are in line with the next trends by using artificial intelligence to save resources and time. Fatima told her story of how she ended up in the tech world. She described her love of fashion and desire to keep up with today’s trends. That’s when she turned to AI. Fatima discovered that it was a perfect creative outlet for her, and her skills grew from there. She now uses her experience to help Sustalytics gain consumer feedback by creating AI-generated pictures for fashion trends.

Recycled Fabric:
If priced equally, consumers are 16% more likely to purchase a garment if the label states ‘Recycled.’ If 5 euros more, they are only 5% more likely to purchase a garment if the label states ‘Recycled.’ The concept of ‘recycled,’ however, is not as valued by consumers as the concept of ‘organic.’ Consumers are x2 more willing to pay extra for Organic Cotton than Recycled (10% vs 5%). It is believed that consumers don’t understand the amount of water required to grow cotton nor the impact organic cotton vs recycled materials has. A deeper study could be conducted to discern whether ‘organic cotton’ has an environmentally friendly connotation to consumers or is valued because it is better for their own health/ skin. Consumers are sensitive to the fact that the materials are Recycled.
